These shots were in fact very challenging. The light levels were generally very low, and the museum wouldn't allow the use of supplemental lighting or even a tripod. All shots were hand-held, many at 1/8 second. In addition, the quality of light on some objects was mixed halogen and indirect sunlight, often with hot spots on the artwork.
Accurate exposure and color fidelity required proper compensation for these variations and attention to detail.
